Nestled just minutes from Quilotoa Lagoon, Hosteria Alpaka Quilotoa is a charming spot that offers a comfy retreat after a day of exploring. Despite its cozy atmosphere, my experience didn't quite live up to the potential, but there were still noteworthy highlights. The communal areas, like the lounge and garden, provide a lovely space to unwind, especially beside the outdoor fireplace, perfect for sharing stories with fellow travelers. We opted for the dinner and breakfast package, which, while it felt a tad overpriced, did include hearty meals served family style-nothing beats sharing a warm chicken stew and connecting with fellow guests over a cozy woodstove. Our room was clean and spacious, with the luxurious touch of down comforters-an unexpected joy! some aspects left us wanting more; the housekeeping could have been improved, and we encountered a shortage of staff attention during mealtime, leading to a slightly chaotic atmosphere. If you're planning a trip to the area, I recommend seeking out local dining options for an enriching culinary experience. Still, the picturesque walks around this quaint town and to the stunning crater lake made our stay worthwhile. Be sure to check out the adorable local puppies, too-they added just the right touch of joy to our adventure!
